The iPhone for anyone
A familiar form factor
In 2020, the iPhone SE 2nd generation brought back the popular form factor of the iPhone 8. The curved aluminum-framed case with its 4.7-inch display offers a timeless elegance, and is ideal for those who find larger smartphones too big to handle comfortably.
The iPhone SE 3rd generation keeps that iconic look and shape. This includes the 4.7-inch Retina HD display, the familiar Home button with Touch ID fingerprint unlocking, and the Lightning port. It supports Q1 wireless charging.
The aluminum-framed iPhone SE 3 is now available in Midnight, Starlight, or (PRODUCT) RED. Storage options remain unchanged at 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB.
An iconic design gets a massive performance upgrade
The iPhone SE 3rd generation may look familiar, but it gets upgrades on the inside that make it an entirely new class of smartphone with a massively improved user experience.
First up is the Apple A15 Bionic processor. This is the same chip that powers the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. It is the fastest CPU in a smartphone, and allows the new iPhone SE to deliver flagship-class speed with incredible graphics performance.
The move to the Apple A15 Bionic processor delivers additional benefits as well. Improved power efficiency means the new iPhone SE gets improved battery life of up to 15 hours of video playback. The 16-core Neural Engine unlocks advanced camera features including Deep Fusion, making the iPhone SE’s 12MP camera better than ever.
In addition to being equipped with the world’s fastest mobile processor, the iPhone SE 3rd generation also gets support for 5G cellular service. With 5G, the new iPhone SE can take full advantage of the latest cellular technology for faster uploads and downloads with less latency.
The iPhone SE 3’s aerospace-grade aluminum frame is complemented by the world’s toughest smartphone glass (front and back), making it more durable than ever.
What is the difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen iPhone SE?
Visually, the second and third generation iPhone SE 3 look identical. That’s a good thing for fans of an affordable, right-sized iPhone.
There are two primary differences.
The iPhone SE 2 is equipped with an Apple A13 Bionic chip, while the iPhone SE 3 gets the ultra-powerful Apple A15 Bionic. The new processor makes the third generation iPhone SE much faster, with improved battery life. Despite being equipped with the same camera as the iPhone SE 2, the new processor adds advanced new camera capabilities. It also optimizes images using Deep Fusion computational photography and machine learning to improve photos and videos in general—especially those taken in low light.
The second primary difference between generations is cellular support. The iPhone SE 2 supports LTE cellular. The new iPhone SE 3rd generation gets 5G support, for the fastest possible cellular performance.
Carrying some protection
The iPhone SE 3rd generation is a durable smartphone with IP 67 water resistance, but with a glass front and back it is not invincible. There are a number of cases you can get to cover it up and save it from damage. You can choose a case specially made for the 3rd generation iPhone SE, the iPhone SE 2, or even use cases made for the iPhone 8, since the phones are the same size.
A tempered glass screen protector is an option to keep the display clear of scratches, blemishes and chips. If you need an extra Lightning cable for the car, or even a wireless charging pad to keep handy at home, the 3rd generation iPhone SE works with a wide variety of Apple and third party accessories.
