Connect your PC, laptop, game console, or mobile device to a monitor/TV with video cables
When you want to connect your PC, laptop, game console, or mobile device to a computer monitor or a TV, you’ll need the right video cables. The challenge is matching the video output port on your device to the video input port on the external display. For example, your PC may have a DVI port, while your TV has only HDMI input.
What are the types of video cables available? The most common today are HDMI, DVI, and DisplayPort cables. It’s easy to find a monitor cable in these formats. However, there are times where ports don’t match. In those cases you’ll need an adapter such as an HDMI DisplayPort cable, or a UBC to DisplayPort cable.
In addition to making certain you have a port match, you’ll want to ensure the versions are compatible (HDMI cables in particular can support different versions including HDMI 2.1), and that the cable is long enough.
