The Classic is back in rotation

What to expect with the Galaxy Watch6 Classic

Look who’s back—the Galaxy Watch6 returns to Classic form after a one-year absence by way of the rotating bezel. Perhaps the most recognizable feature of any Samsung smartwatch, the bezel represents a return to a proven mode of navigation for the brand’s most iconic wearable. There’s nothing like that pleasing “click” as you move it along.

What comes around doesn’t just go around with the Galaxy Watch6 Classic, particularly  because it’s grown larger courtesy of 43mm and 47mm sizes, making the latter the largest smartwatch from Samsung to date. Great for larger wrists looking for a slightly larger display, yet its stature stays the same because of that thinner bezel. Plus, the same build materials come into play, including sapphire crystal to protect the screen and a stainless steel body to maintain rugged versatility.

This watch also introduces a new one-click band system that replaces the previous ones, simplifying how you swap them out whenever you feel the need. This way, you can switch from the rubberized sport band that comes with the watch and put on something made of different materials, be it leather, fabric or metallic.

How is the Galaxy Watch6 Classic different?

The rotating bezel sets the Galaxy Watch6 Classic apart from other recent Samsung watches, including the smaller Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch5 series. It remains one of the most intuitive ways to use a smartwatch, where you can quickly cycle through different tiles and menus without even touching the screen. The watch’s display is still touch-sensitive, giving you another way to get around for the features you want straight from your wrist.

Advanced sleep coaching will show you more about how well you slept right on the watch itself in an effort to help you improve the quality of your nightly slumber. Paired with an Android phone running Samsung Health, the app displays more detailed information to gain better insight—like having a sleep coach on your wrist.

Health continues to be a significant focus for the Samsung’s wearables, and that includes newer features like the Continuous Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN). This unique tool, which exclusively works with Samsung Galaxy smartphones, utilizes the Samsung Health Monitor and ECG Monitor apps to point out when an irregular heart rhythm shows potential signs for atrial fibrillation (AFib). While not a substitute for a medical device, it could prove invaluable as a warning when something is off.

Who is the Galaxy Watch6 Classic for?

The Galaxy Watch6 Classic was built for activity and leisure all at once. Running Google’s Wear OS, yet still retaining Samsung’s own visual flair, this watch functions with a great deal of synergy between the hardware and the software. It also remains as versatile as ever, whether it’s using Samsung Pay to effortlessly make in-store payments or taking phone calls through the onboard microphone and speaker when they come in. You can even control certain features on your Galaxy smartphone’s camera directly from the watch itself.

Those are extras on top of all the other neat things the watch can handle. Body Composition (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) measurements are designed to be comprehensive to read your body fat percentage, fat mass, skeletal muscle and body water. There are 100 exercises and workouts to track—six of which work automatically after you start. It’s even possible to challenge yourself and others to reach new goals.

The Wi-Fi and LTE variants share all the same features, so don’t worry about losing out on any special exclusives if you go one way or the other. You don’t need to have a Samsung smartphone to use the Galaxy Watch6 Classic, but if you do, certain features and integrations will be there that aren’t otherwise available to other Android phones.
