Google brings out the best in the Pixel 5
With the Pixel 5, you are guaranteed to get Google’s best smartphone experience. That includes a 6-inch P-OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate for a smoother way to run through Android and all the apps you like to use. With a snappy Snapdragon 765G processor to keep things humming along, there’s plenty of memory to take advantage of, like the 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM the phone comes with.
The Pixel 5’s power shows every time you launch the camera. With a new 16-megapixel ultrawide lens to complement the main 12.2-megapixel wide lens, what is arguably the best mobile camera only gets better. New software features get even more out of Portrait mode, and low-light and night photography remains at the top of its class. Video recording also gets a big boost with new ways to capture great scenes for a cinematic touch.
Battery life also gets its own boost, with longer life per charge, and an Extreme Battery Saver to make it last up to 48 hours. It’s also the first Pixel phone with reverse wireless charging, so when you place another Qi-enabled device on top, it charges it up.
New features also bring the Pixel 5 into a new era, starting with 5G connectivity to take advantage of the wireless networks of the future. You can also share your screen and watch video with someone using Google Duo, and Stadia gives you access to a streaming video game library.
Listen to what you want with the Nest Audio
Google’s latest smart speaker has a new look, coming in up to five different colours. It also has some extra power under the hood, boasting a 75% increase in volume and 50% more bass than the original Google Home. That will make music, podcasts and any other audio content you like sound so much better.
With a cover made from 70% recycled materials, the Nest Audio should fit in anywhere you put it. You also have the chance to pair two of them together for left and right channels to create a stereo setup.
The Nest Audio is made to bring the best of Google Assistant to any room you put it in. Tell it what music you want to hear, ask it questions about people, places and things, and control smart home devices—all with your voice. For extra privacy, it also lets you delete your history by voice, or you can just turn off the mic with ease.
New Chromecast, new look, new Google TV
Google gave its Chromecast a whole new look, and it’s now called the Chromecast with Google TV. More than just a dongle you plug into your TV’s HDMI port, it also comes with a remote and an entirely new software interface to browse and play the content you want from the most popular platforms.
The Chromecast with Google TV supports 4K resolution with HDR at up to 60fps, including Dolby Vision and Dolby audio content. The new screensaver can take your own images from your Google Photos library and display them for a more personalized touch. If you have a security camera that can work with it, you will be able to see a live feed from it through this device, too.
The remote comes with Google Assistant built-in, enabling you to search for content by voice, as well as to control smart home devices the same way. Dedicated buttons for Netflix and YouTube act as shortcuts to those platforms, adding to the convenience of having everything at your fingertips.
