The Galaxy S23 FE is made for fans who want a little bit of everything
For Samsung’s fans
The “FE” in this phone stands for Fan Edition, and Samsung made the Galaxy S23 FE to find a middle ground between design, performance and affordability. It packs some of the best features from Samsung’s flagship phones, including a high-end body with key components and the right software to get things done.
This phone comes with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display, fitting right in with the vibrant panels that are typical of Samsung phones, though it is not exactly the same as those on the other S23 models. It’s capable of playing and recording HDR10+ content, and the 120Hz refresh rate ensures things run smoothly onscreen when necessary. It’s also adaptive, meaning it will run at 60Hz in most cases, only ramping up when navigating the interface or viewing certain content. It’s also going to be easy to see because of the 1450 nits of peak brightness, helping to make things visible in brighter conditions.
The Galaxy S23 FE runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage inside. There is no microSD card slot to expand storage further, so something to keep in mind if you need the extra space.
To ensure your Galaxy S23 FE remains in top condition amidst daily use, consider complementing it with a durable case. Not only does a case provide essential protection against drops and scratches, but it also offers a way to personalize your device to match your style.
Cameras that can produce quality images
The Galaxy S23 FE gives you a triple camera array in the rear to capture whatever images come into view. The main camera is a 50-megapixel shooter that also allows you to take photos at the full 50-megapixel resolution when you select that option in the settings. You also get a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a wide field of view to really squeeze in a lot into a scene. These cameras are the same as those in the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+.
The 8-megapixel telephoto is unique to the Galaxy S23 FE, yet it still provides a 3x optical zoom to get closer to a subject. A 10-megapixel selfie camera is also unique to this phone, which you can use to capture memorable moments on photo or video.
Many of the same modes Samsung offers on its other Galaxy S23 phones are ready to go on the FE as well. The camera software is easy to use and provides many options in how to capture the content you like. There are various photography and video modes to work with, including professional-level granular controls that let you decide how to compose an image before you even capture it.
Battery life that won’t leave you hanging
The Galaxy S23 FE is equipped with a 4500mAh battery, putting it right in the middle between all the other Galaxy S23 devices. It has enough power to help you get through a full day, so you can count on having the freedom to call, message, browse, stream and connect with the people, apps and services you need to stay in touch with.
While the phone itself won’t come with a wall charger, the Galaxy S23 FE can recharge quickly when you use it with a 25W adapter. Just plug in for 30 minutes and you can get a 50% charge. This phone also supports wireless charging for extra convenience when you have a Qi-enabled dock or pad handy, where all you need to do is lay the phone down on it to start replenishing the battery.
