Best Buy to reopen stores nationwide May 25

Best Buy Canada will reopen its big box stores nationwide on May 25. Stores will operate under the fully open, limited customer model, which allows customers inside Best Buy stores while managing numbers in-store at any time and adopting strict health and safety procedures. Customers will be able to browse and consult with Blue Shirts and Brand Experts, access Geek Squad services, complete wireless activations and return products.

“We are pleased to welcome Canadians back inside Best Buy stores,” says Mat Povse, Senior Vice President, Best Buy Retail and Geek Squad Services. “I’m so proud of how our team has adapted to different ways of serving our customers during the last couple of months. We’ve heard from customers that they are keen to get back inside our stores and we are confident we can continue to meet their needs while providing a safe shopping experience.”

All stores will follow strict safety protocols. All team members will exercise hygiene best practices, adhere to physical distancing and wear masks. Plexi glass barriers have been installed at checkout counters and will be cleaned regularly. Common areas will be thoroughly cleaned including regular disinfection of high-touch surfaces.

Best Buy plans to open four Best Buy Mobile stores, two each in BC and Alberta, on May 27.

Geek Squad in-home services will resume on June 1.
