We understand how disappointing it can be when the item you want, especially one on sale, is out of stock. Sometimes, products sell out faster than we expect due to high demand or unexpected situations.

That’s why we offer rain checks! Best Buy stores may offer you a rain check if the sale item you want is unavailable in-store. This lets you reserve the item at the discounted price and buy it later once it’s back in stock.

It’s our way of making sure you don’t miss out on the best deals for the latest and greatest tech.

Rain checks are available for in-store purchases only, remain valid for 30 days, and are limited to 1 unit per household.

A rain check allows you to buy the sale item at the advertised price, but only at the Best Buy store where it was issued.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the item's availability or hold it for you. We also won't be able to notify you when it becomes available again.

To stay updated, we recommend checking our website or visiting your local Best Buy store to see if the item is back in stock. You can also sign up for our newsletters and be the first to know about the hottest deals, latest products, and exclusive sales events.

Additionally, we are unable to accept rain checks after 30 days. If the item is not restocked within this period, the rain check will expire and no longer be valid.

Exclusions:

• Limited quantity items
• Out of stock items that are currently not in transit
• Promotions that explicitly state "No rain checks"
• Clearance, Refurbished, or Open Box products
• Best Buy Marketplace products
• Products purchased on BestBuy.ca

If you find an item on sale at your local Best Buy, but it’s currently out of stock, here’s what you can do:

• Check the promotional material for any exceptions or exclusions.
• If you’re not sure, ask one of our Blue Shirts if the item qualifies for a rain check.
• If it does qualify, they'll give you a paper receipt as your rain check.

Keep this receipt for the next 30 days. You’ll need it when you're ready to redeem your rain check.

If it's been less than 30 days and the item you've been waiting for is back in stock at your local Best Buy, it's time to redeem your rain check! 

Here’s what to do:

• Bring your valid rain check receipt to the store where you received it.
• Find the item and head to the checkout counter.
• Show your receipt to a Blue Shirt. 

We'll make sure that you can purchase the item at the previously advertised price. No surprises or price changes.

Remember, rain checks can only be used at the store where they were issued.  So, make sure the item is available at that location before making your trip.

If a product on sale that you want is currently out of stock and doesn't qualify for a rain check, here are some things you can do:

1. Check availability online. Even if the item is out of stock in-store, it might still be available online. Visit BestBuy.ca to see if the item is currently in stock.
2. Visit nearby stores.  If you have multiple Best Buy stores in your area, check if the item is available at a nearby store. A Blue Shirt can help you find the nearest store that carries the item or place an order for you online. 

3. Explore similar products. We have a wide range of products and always offer great deals. Chat with a Blue Shirt in-store or explore similar products online to find an alternative that fits your needs.

4. Wait for restocking. If the item you want is temporarily unavailable, rest assured that we're working hard to restock popular items as quickly as possible.
